These are some of my favorite places to visit while in the Jacksonville area ...
Jax Downtown:

Across
the River:

Friendship Park: fountain Taking an evening stroll around the fountain is a memorable experience, and it gives you a beautiful view of the Jax Skyline.
MOSH: mosh Kids and adults alike will get a real kick out of the Museum of Science and History. Plan for a whole day's outing.
The Chart House: Carthouse Elegant Dining and some of the best seafood in Jacksonville can be found at the Chart House Restaurant, just east of the fountain.
Beach Road Chicken Dinners: beach road sign Take your group to a huge chicken dinner served family style. That's Fried Chicken, Creamed Peas, Mash Potatoes & Gravy, Cole Slaw, Corn on the Cob, Biscuits, and lots of Iced tea. They only serve between 4 and 8PM, so get there early and you still may need to stand in line! You will need to catch a taxi or the CT4 Bus, but it's just a couple of miles from downtown on Atlantic Boulevard.

The Beaches:
Atlantic Beach: Atlantic Beach Lots of neat shops and a clean good walking beach. The beach trolly/shuttle can take you up to Mayport, Hanna Park, or down to Jax Beach for just a buck.
Jacksonville Beach: jax beach Get to Jax Beach by 9:AM and see the lifeguards do their morning practice exercises. This beach is wide and excellent for all activities. There are nice eating establishments here as well.
St. Augustine:
St. George Street St. George St. Step back in time to the 15th Century and find great food, wonderful shops, historical sites, and be in the oldest city in the U.S.A. See the Sunshine Bus Schedule mentioned in the logistics section for how to get here.
Castillo De San Marco Fort: fort See one of the oldest spanish forts in the U.S.A. and go on interpretive history tours with guides that are in costume and everything. They even have frequent canon firings!
Outlet Mall: mall I don't put this high on my list, but it is high on my wife's list. Maybe yours too if you like to shop in some top name stores.
